Mrs. Ruskin is always happy to see Venus and today is no exception! She makes them tea and listens while the girl talks, offering encouragement (she seems to find the talk of a Valentine's dance highly endearing) and advice about the arcane. The news of Venus' dream doesn't seem to catch her entirely by surprise and she smiles somberly, saying that she'd sensed something had changed too. She thinks Joss might be at peace now? Maybe he just wanted someone to have his crystal? She adds that he was always such a sweet boy and that Venus reminds her of him.
Regardless, she seems thoughtful and a little sad but also relieved as she says goodnight to Venus.
